Dance Class Descriptions Class Levels

Parents and dancers often ask

What do your levels mean?” or “When will my dancer be ready for the next level?”

Parents and students should not anticipate annual level advancements. Dance classes

do not progress at the same pace as your child’s grade school. It is common

for students to stay in the same level of dance for more then one year. Because the range of the criteria for advancement is so diverse, it may be two or more years before a dancer is ready for

advancement to the next level of dance.

Class Placement

Students are placed in classes according to what they have accomplished (the skills that they have learned) during the years they have previously studied. Dedication and natural ability are also considered. When a new student joins our studio, it may be advisable for the student to attend several different types of classes in order to determine which dance style class is the best fit.
